History of live-action failures set up One Piece for success years before Netflix debut

One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda has cited a ‘history of failure’ as to why Netflix’s live-action adaptation was able to succeed where others failed. Live-action adaptations of classic anime and manga have been as infamous as any genre of on-screen entertainment, mainly due to their extremely poor quality in translating content between the different mediums.
